In order to be considered for a Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University in the United Kingdom, candidates must fulfill the subsequent requirements:
- Only students from the nations listed above are qualified for the Rhodes Scholarship. The Global Scholarship, which will probably be the most competitive scholarship program the Rhodes Trust offers, is open to students whose nationality is not one of the listed countries.
- Age: You must be at least the following age on October 1, 2024:
- You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and not have turned twenty-four (i.e., born on or before October 1, 2005, and after October 1, 1999). OR (for candidates who are older and have obtained their undergraduate degree later than typical)
- You have to be under 27 years old (born after October 1, 1996) AND meet or expect to satisfy the prerequisites to finish your first degree before October 1, 2024, at the latest.
- You must have earned a First Class undergraduate degree or a minimum GPA of 3.70 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) and have completed, or plan to complete, your undergraduate degree by June or July of 2025. Please pay close attention to the prerequisites—which can be even higher—for the Oxford course you have selected. Promising candidates usually find themselves in the upper echelons of their graduating classes.
- To meet the University of Oxford’s English language proficiency standards (at the Higher Level specified), you must possess a high enough level of English.
